The Walks

All walks are circular, beginning and ending at Eardisland’s War Memorial in the village centre. Distances vary from less than one mile to over 15 miles.
There are thirteen walks in total.
Guide leaflets are available and recommended. Walks are all upon rights of way, mainly public footpaths but in some places quiet lanes feature. In a very small number of cases, A and B class roads are crossed or used over short distances to join footpaths. Permissive routes, that is, paths over land preferred by the landowner, are selected in a few places.
Distinctive ‘Eardisland Memorial Walks’ waymarks are posted to complement the guide leaflets. Arrows on the waymarks are colour coded: yellow for public footpath, black for permissive path, red for vehicular access.
Walk details leaflet available from Eardisland Community Shop and Rita’s Tearooms. Leaflets cost 50p and proceeds help support the Eardisland Memorial Walks project. The shop is opposite the war memorial, Rita’s is 20m along from the war memorial.
