Our Fallen

Around 100 men from Eardisland served in the Armed Forces in the First World War. Thirteen young men died in service: some killed in action, some dying from wounds sustained in action and some from illness or disease.
Their names are inscribed on the War Memorial. One soldier lies in our churchyard. The remainder rest in graves or are memorialised in France, Belgium, Greece, Turkey and Egypt.
Each of our Fallen has a Walk named after him. You can get to know more about each man by reading the respective walk guide leaflet available from Eardisland Community Shop and Rita’s Tearooms.
